Does a detox diet have benefits?

Detoxifying your body has many benefits to offer. People who succeed in doing this claim that their skin complexion has improved, they now have better mental and physical health, and they have lost weight as well.

Are their any side effects during body detoxification?

When it comes to body detoxification, certain nutrients may not be present in your diet plan. This means that in some point or another, your intake of precious nutrients needed by the body is missing. Therefore, it is advisable that a detox diet should not be done in long term basis.

Detox diet is easy to follow and the diet plan may consist of; fruits and vegetables, oats, beans, potatoes, steamed fish, yogurt, brown rice, herbs, and herbal teas.

Alternatively, you should avoid consuming red meat, chicken, coffee and sodas, wheat products, sweets and pastries.

I have listed below sample meal plans you can prepare to start your detox diet regimen:

Breakfast

Try fruit smoothies – could be pear, kiwi, orange, plum, or apple. Add some ice to taste. But if you are like me who has a weak stomach, avoid citrus fruits and replace them with strawberries.

Lunch

Extra virgin olive oil is excellent; include onion and garlic, celery, carrots, water, bay leaves, and spinach. Saute onion, garlic, bay leaves, and water and boil them for one hour. Afterwhich, you can add the other remaining ingredients and let them boil until they wilt.

Dinner
Salads are perfect! Mix green and red papers, artichokes dressed with garlic, olive oil, and lemon juice.

Multivitamins are known to help improve the detox process. Always remember, if you are targeting your overall health balance, you need to have patience and discipline.
